Masterclass: Filmmakers Molly Reynolds and Rolf de Heer

FTI, in association with PIAF, are delighted to announce master classes with two of Australia’s most exciting filmmakers Molly Reynolds and Rolf De Heer.

DOCUMENTARY TECHNIQUES WITH MOLLY REYNOLDS (10am–1pm)

Molly Reynolds (Another Country and Still Our Country) will discuss her documentary techniques including how to get strong interviews, maintaining production quality when shooting in remote locations, protocols for shooting on-country and shooting on the fly.

HOW TO SHOOT DRAMA WITH SMALLER CREWS WITH ROLF DE HEER (2–5pm)

Rolf de Heer (Ten Canoes, Charlie’s Country, The Tracker) will look at the mechanics and advantages of shooting dramas with small crews, especially in remote locations. He will discuss which roles can most easily be combined, the configurations he has used on his own shoots, and when you do need to allow an extra hand for crocodile spotting!
